We are searching for contributors for the first issue of Corporealities, a magazine launching (in print) in fall 2026, exploring the human body through interdisciplinary lenses. Contributions can take the form of image or text, in any format, connected to the theme; The Future Body.
Deadline for submitting your proposal is March 1st.
Interested in submitting? Keep reading.

ABOUT

Corporealities will be an annual magazine dedicated to exploring the human body through interdisciplinary perspectives. Each volume will center on a specific theme and invite artists, writers, researchers, philosophers, and other thinkers to contribute with text and/or images that engage critically, scientifically, poetically, or speculatively with corporeal existence. The magazine will seek to challenge, expand, and reimagine what bodies are – and what they could become – in a world shaped by technology, medicine, the environment, and interspecies entanglements.

THEME: THE FUTURE BODY

The first issue, launching in fall 2026, will focus on The Future Body – a theme that asks how bodies are imagined, transformed, and negotiated in a rapidly changing world. How might advances in technology, medicine, and artificial intelligence alter our understanding of embodiment? How will bodies adapt to an environment increasingly shaped by climate change – to air, temperatures, and ecologies they were never built for? What new forms of kinship, identity, and anatomies might emerge? How does the notion of “the human” shift when the boundaries between organic, synthetic, and virtual life begin to dissolve?

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We welcome essays, experimental writing, poetic reflections, visuals as in any form of photography, graphic design, illustrations, installations, or paintings that respond to this theme from a wide range of perspectives and disciplines.
Submissions may consider, but are not limited to, topics such as:

biotechnology and engineered anatomies  –  body modification, adaptation, and mutation  –  prosthetics, implants, wearables, and augmented bodies  –  microbiomes, symbiotic or parasitic entanglements, and interspecies relations  –  immunology, future sickness, and new forms of healing  –  digital flesh, virtual existence, and synthetic identities  –  the body as interface for machines, networks, or ecosystems  –  time, temporality, and changing rhythms of being  –  longevity, aging, preservation, and repair

Your proposal should briefly outline your topic, your angle, and the ideas or questions you wish to explore. It doesn’t need to be fixed or final;
this stage is simply to get a sense of your direction. The deadline for finished work will be set closer to May 2026.

Please send us your proposal (or finished work, if you already have it)
by March 1st, 2026.

WHO WE ARE

Corporealities was founded by Alexandra Jansson Moreno, artist, and Kegen Lorentzon, photographer, both based in Stockholm. Brought together by a shared interest in text, the visual, and the printed format, they have joined forces to create a space where different perspectives on how the human being can meet and unfold.

*As Corporealities is an emerging, independently produced publication, our budget for this first issue covers printing costs only, and we are therefore unable to offer contributor fees at this time.
